The transgressive character of Marcelo Burlon is evident in an unmistakable symbolism that serves as a signature for the designer. Wings or wing print, snake print or club brushstrokes, among others, reinforce the idea that the creator of County of Milan has of his brand: “a multicultural blender of fashion, music, clubbing and radical beauty.”
Although today he dresses celebrities such as Cristiano Ronaldo or Bella Hadid, the beginnings of Marcelo Buron show that it was not always so easy. The designer began cleaning hotel rooms along with his mother in his native Argentina. At age 21, he moved to Italy with his family and started to rub shoulders with some of the most important figures in the world of fashion, a lifestyle that led him to move to Milan and start a career as a DJ, photographer and model. The industry caught his attention and he made the decision of his life: Marcelo wanted to have his own fashion brand.
In 2012, he launched a print-run of snake print T-shirts that reported more than 10.000 sales and served as a manifestation of his talent. Two years later, the designer - although he prefers to be considered a creative director- presented his first collection with his County of Milan brand. Also, his New Guards Group empire, founded together with Claudio Antonioli and Davide de giglio, brings together some of the most influential brands in today’s industry, such as Off-White, Heron Preston or Palm Angels. The objective of the three partners was to be able to market a more independent fashion as opposed to other classic luxury brands.
